It is the only comprehensive radiation therapy treatment center in the region offering tailored solutions to complex cancer care and non-cancerous conditions. Its expert treatment team is the largest and most experienced in Louisiana, treating more patients with radiation therapy than any other facility in the state. In recent years, Mary Bird Perkins has invested over $25 million to bring southeast Louisiana residents the most advanced radiation therapy available in the world including IMRT; advanced IGRT through BrainLAB Novalis and the TomoTherapy HI-ART System; stereotactic radiosurgery; adaptive radiotherapy and four-dimensional CT tumor localization. Mary Bird Perkins has an exclusive research partnership with Louisiana State University to discover new cancer treatments, enabling the Center to attract the brightest minds in cancer treatment to Baton Rouge.
